Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination and Burjeel Medical City sign agreement


ABU DHABI – Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination (ZHO) has signed an agreement with Burjeel Medical City on orthopedic 3D printing, where the city purchases some of the products from the Organization’s first specialized workshop in product development from 3D printing with the effort of determined people using the HP Jet Fusion 4200 series printer to produce medical stents for limbs.

The agreement was signed by Abdulla Abdulalee Alhumaidan, Secretary General of ZHO, and John Sunil, in his capacity as Regional CEO of Burjeel Medical City, in the presence of Abdulla Ismail Abdulla Al Kamali, Executive Director of ZHO Determined Persons Sector; Nafaa Ali Alhammadi, Executive Director of ZHO Support Services Sector; Dr Khalid Abu Al-Dahab, Medical Director of Burjeel Darak, and Walid Tawfik, Strategic Director.

The signing ceremony took place at the headquarters of the Burjeel Hospital at Mohammed bin Zayed City in Abu Dhabi, attended by a group of leaders from ZHO and Burjeel Medical City.

The Secretary General of ZHO welcomed the conclusion of the contract with Burjeel Medical City as part of the Organization’s efforts to commercialize the production of the workshop specializing in the development of products with 3D printing technology for producing medical stents for limbs with the efforts of People of Determination.

He pointed out that the ZHO recruited seven individuals from among those determined under the supervision of specialized technical and educational staff carefully selected from among its members to work in the workshop, all of whom received specialized training to gain experience. in high precision artificial manipulation. intelligence technologies at all stages of production thanks to 3D printing.

For his part, the CEO of Burjeel Medical City welcomed the signing of the agreement which highlights the role of determined people in enriching community life in light of the UAE’s efforts to support them. and strengthen their role in public life.

3D printing, or “cumulative manufacturing”, is the process of manufacturing solid 3D objects using computer programs (a digital file) and then printing (manufacturing) them by a 3D printer. It is one of the milestones of the technological revolution of the modern era, as it has made its breakthrough in many fields and industrial sectors, and has proven its promising capabilities in several fields. 3D printing makes it possible to produce very complex shapes using a smaller number of materials, unlike traditional manufacturing methods.
